OPEN ACCESS BENEFITS

Because we are an open-network practice, we are not confined to the rules of your vision plan policy. We have the ability to carefully select the labs we wish to work with to ensure that you get high-quality services/materials without the fear that it will break in a couple of months. We pride ourselves in the care we provide!

Q: What is open access?

A: Finding the right eye doctor is important to your eye health and overall wellness. The great news is that most eye care plans such as VSP, EyeMed, Spectera, and others have an open access option which allows the patient to select any eye doctor they choose. This is also commonly known as out of network benefits.

Envision Ghent Optometry, after careful thought, have decided to be open access providers with all vision plans. We know that patients value the outstanding patient experience we provide. We will continue to offer the best possible eye examination with superior technology and prescribe the highest quality materials from trustworthy manufacturing facilities.

We are not able to provide a superior patient experience when large corporations dictate what we can prescribe, where we must order materials, and how much time we spend with our patients. We will not allow large corporations to compromise our patient care! Our pledge to you is that we will spend the time necessary to get everything right.

Q: I really like the doctors so how can I afford the out-of-pocket fees?

A: We understand this concern. We have other options: if you have any medical problems with your eyes or systemic diseases, we can see you using your medical insurance. Examples of such problems are diabetes, dry eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, painful or red eyes, injuries to the eye, allergies, or the use of certain medications such as hydroxychloroquine (there are many other eye and body conditions which may qualify).

The doctors will provide you with a discounted examination fee. Our fee for an eye examination is discounted by 30% if paid in full at the time of service. We will also help you by submitting your paperwork to your vision plan. Your vision plan may reimburse a portion of the fees directly to you.

Payment options: We accept Health Savings Accounts, Flex Spending Accounts and for approved patients we provide an interest free 6- or 12-month payment plan through Care Credit (which may also be used at the dentist, veterinarian, or physician clinics).

Q: What will I be reimbursed?

A: Each plan is different so we may not be able to provide a specific amount. You may log into your vision plan website and search in the “open access” benefits section. Information should be available regarding your specific reimbursement plan.

Q: How long will it take for me to receive the reimbursement check?

A: We will submit the claim within two business days. Claims usually take about 1 month to process with your carrier. (We cannot guarantee reimbursement time or the amount.)

Q: Do you have discounts on glasses frames and lenses?

A: We will provide a discount on orders for complete pairs of eyeglasses. We respect your wisdom by choosing to invest in quality care and materials and supporting local businesses!
