MEET DR. CASSIS

Nathalie Cassis OD, FAAO


Dr. Cassis graduated from the University of Montreal School of Optometry in 1992. She worked in private practice for 2 years. She then completed a Primary Care residency at The Eye Institute of The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia in 1994- 1995. She then moved to the Hampton Roads area and worked in different practice settings.

Dr. Cassis founded N2 Eyes Comprehensive Optometry in 2004 in Newport News. She commuted to the peninsula for 17 years until the opportunity to work within minute from her house occurred in the spring of 2019. The untimely passing of Dr. Mitchell Corey allowed Dr. Cassis to preserve his nurturing legacy. She is taking care of his existing patients as well as seeing new patients.

There have been of a lot of changes and updates in the office setting and equipment to allow the practice to thrive in today’s health care setting. Dr. Cassis has thoroughly enjoyed giving personalized care in a smaller professional setting and loves the close relationship she is able to develop with her patients.

With now close to thirty years of clinical experience knowledge and experience, Dr. Cassis is very comfortable in the management of refractive surgery, contact lens fitting as well as primary care optometry.

Dry Eyes


During the COVID reduction in clinical hours, Dr. Cassis acquired significant knowledge and equipment regarding the treatment of dry eyes. With the drastic increase in digital device use, even in children, the amount of dry eyes issues reported have significantly increased and are affecting patients’ quality of vision and life.

Dr. Cassis firmly believes in supporting local and international organizations that improve the lives of women and children, giving them the opportunity to improve their living condition and fulfilling their potential, making the world a better place.

WELL-BEING


Dr. Cassis sincerely believes that we are, for the most part, responsible for our health and wellbeing. She has completed several triathlons, notably four half- and two full ironman distance events, and she pursued a 29029 event where she climbed the height of Everest while going up Mount Stratton (Vermont) 17 times over the course of 27 hours.
